The THERAPEUTIC POTENTIAL OF SMALL GROUPS IN MAINTENING MENTAL HEALTH OF PARTICIPANTS OF MILITARY ACTION ON THE EASTERN UKRAINE:
Abstract. The urgency of the study is conditioned by the acute need to increase the effectiveness of the socio-psychological rehabilitation of the participants of the military conflict, especially in a rather high level of distrust of society towards government and public initiatives. The purpose of the paper is to determine the socio-psychological (group, family) resources of maintaining the mental health of the participants of military action and their families. The organization of empirical research in the methodological plan was carried out in two directions: the definition of «therapeutic potential» and the role of members of small groups - families - in the process of rehabilitation. As a result of the analysis revealed: the problem situation is characterized by actualization of family difficulties, causes changes in family identity; factors causing a deterioration of well-being are cognitive dissonance in the system «I - the other», the divergence of value orientations of personality and society. The specificity of the axioms of the combatants is the opposition to a «peaceful» society, as the search for new meanings, new forms of social activity, as a specific bright emotional perception of life activity, life events. Recommended directions of psychological support for families of injured servicemen: group counseling for wives with the purpose of forming consciousness of the «personality - situation – problem»; group family consultations for the purpose of interactivating adaptive opportunities of the spouses, experience of new social experience. Recommended directions for the development of the axiological principles of rehabilitation programs for military combatants: the quality of family relationships and parental values are the mechanisms for the abolition of military engagement in the culture of the perception of social interaction; the grouping of participants according to the axiological positions will significantly improve the effectiveness of rehabilitation influences.
